Although white wine is traditionally recommended for chicken and seafood, a nice dry white will do just as well as a dry red wine, preferibly Rioja. Others prefer sherry as well. As for appetizers, you can serve a salad, as the paella already has many ingredients. Good luck at your dinner party!

Manuel Ruiz is one the greatest water color artists I’ve been privileged to know personally. I recall his munificence and incomparable talent quite vividly. I am proud to have witnessed his artwork (some which was unfinished) at his home some years ago. Manuel went to great lengths to impress every detail into the finest of brushstrokes. It’s not solely the genius that created this artwork that I will always remember him for; he emanated beauty through his very essence. And now it is left in the eyes of the beholder to imbibe this delight through his masterpieces. Nunca serás olvidado Manuel, y simpre te echaremos mucho de menos. Tu amigo hata el fin del mundo, Perry.

I loved your article as it is your Dads story told by you.
I am sure his life was filled with great satisfaction of having done what he wanted to do but probably some regret of having to abort his career to participate in the war. I guess a lot of people found themselves in that horrible situation.

I envy you…in a good way. So far I have walked many parts of the Camino with clients, but I have never treated myself to the experience of walking the Camino by myself entirely. I am sure this experience has encouraged you to do other walks.

Two thumbs up to a fearless traveler..and what a responsibility the one I have. Cheryl, are you sure you know who you are listening to when you take my advice? Just kidding. Very happy your week in Ronda was such a fun and good learning experience.
And YES, Spain is full of surprises like the numbers not growing at the same level in the streets, but it happens everywhere, not just in rural areas..

Interesting Post, Im going to have a large party and were going to serve paella (spanish food), so what kind of wine I can serve and what kind of snacks or pre-dinner food I can serve that goes with paella?
